Common Engine Fault Codes Related to Turbo and DPF Problems
Modern diesel engines can store fault codes for boost pressure, airflow, EGR, DPF restriction, fuel pressure and oil pressure faults. These codes are useful for diagnosis, but they should not be treated as automatic proof that the turbocharger has failed. A correct diagnosis should look at the full system, not just the fault code.
Important note: A turbo-related fault code does not always mean the turbocharger itself has failed. The ECU may detect underboost, overboost, poor airflow, DPF restriction or actuator position problems caused by external components.
Turbo / boost pressure codes

Why Diagnosis Is Important Before Replacing a Turbo
A fault code should be used as a starting point, not as the final diagnosis. Underboost, overboost, smoke, limp mode and DPF faults can be caused by many external issues, including boost leaks, actuator problems, vacuum faults, blocked DPFs, EGR faults, sensor issues, poor oil supply or crankcase pressure problems.
